It has been two years since we lost our beloved KK in an unexpected, tragic demise. KK, whose real name was Krishnakumar Kunnath, passed away on May 31, 2022, after suffering a cardiac arrest following a concert in Kolkata. He was just 53. His death was mourned by many, from celebrities to commoners, who had grown up listening to the wonderful songs crooned by the singer. From 'Yaaron' to 'Aankhon Mein Teri', 20 Soulful Songs Sung by KK That Will Live With Us Forever!

KK gave us many lovely songs in Bollywood, where he was most prolific during the '90s and the 2000s, but he also sang in various other languages like Bengali, Assamese, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, and his mother tongue, Malayalam. There is no '90s kid among us who hasn't been a fan of his songs.

So as we remember this legendary singer, here are seven of our favourite KK songs that still enthral the '90s kids among us.

"Yaaron"

This poignant track about friendship still makes us teary-eyed with nostalgia, and now it has one more reason to leave us even more emotional. "Yaaron" appeared both in the OST of the 1999 film Rockford and in KK's album Pal. Speaking of which...

"Pyar Ke Pal"

This beautiful track is all about memories and nostalgia. While KK's track was quite popular when it came out in 1999, it became even more popular when it became the theme of Indian Idol season 1. This song hit us the most when we heard of KK's passing. "Hum, rahen ya na rahen kal, Kal yaad aayenge ke ye pal, Pal, ye hain pyar ke pal, Chal, aa mere sang chal. Chal, soche kya, Chhoti si, hai zindagi, Kal, mil jaaye to hogi khush-naseebi..." So damn poignant! KK's Song Dhoop Paani Bahne De From Pankaj Tripathi's Sherdil The Pilibhit Saga Unveiled.

"Tadap Tadap"

KK sang two great songs in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. "Kai Po Che," which he sang with Shankar Mahadevan, Jyotsna Hardikar, and Damayanti Bardai, was an enjoyable, fun, festive song. But it is "Tadap Tadap" that resonated more with all the broken hearts among us, with KK's high octaves hitting right where they needed to strike.

"Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe"

It has been 23 years since Dil Chahta Hai came out, and this Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composition still rules the parties and pubs. The energetic combo of KK with Shankar Mahadevan and Shaan, along with its dazzling visuals, star power, and fun choreography, also deserves credit for this long-lasting success.

"Sach Keh Raha Hai"

Another song for the broken hearts that is replete with angst and pain, this gem from Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein simply refuses to fade away and continues to enchant our playlists.

"Just Mohabbat"

For a change, I am going small screen here, with this very popular title track of Just Mohabbat, an iconic TV show from the '90s, sung by KK. You may or may not have seen the show, but you most likely wouldn't have escaped the joviality of this coming-of-age track sung by KK.
