Kirron Kher, born on 14 June 1955, has been a part of this industry for decades together. The actor turned politician has served variety of roles to her audience through her films. There's no one genre that she kept herself restricted to, which made her the go-to person for all the established filmmakers for their movies. Hailing from Chandigarh, the actress and her husband Anupam Kher, have created a space for themselves in the industry. Speaking of her acting career, she first started off with doing theatre, regional films and TV shows. It was in 1996 when her filmy career actually caught pace. She also won a National Award for best actress for Rituparno Ghosh's Bengali film named Bariwali in 1999. Then on, it was the big Bollywood journey for her. Rang De Basanti- A typical Punjabi mother to her carefree child was her character in this film. She also portrayed the strong side of her character during some of the intense scenes.

Om Shanti Om- Who can forget Omi's OTT mother played by her in this film? Kher left no stones unturned to fit perfectly into this dramatic film, making it look bearable and adorable.

Kurbaan- She played the role of Nasreen Aapa and her grey character was like breath of fresh air. Her character was a short and crisp one but definitely added meat to the intense story.
