The times when Bollywood would blatantly plagiarize content from the west or lesser known industry is over! With the internet opening the film market audience is now able to watch different kinds of cinema. With more exposure Bollywood too is being exposed. Just recently Mahesh Bhatt’s Jalebi poster faced flak for lifting the pose from a real life Korean War picture. There are plenty of movie stills that have been copied from regional and international film posters. Today at Latestly we take a look at other Bollywood movies that lifted scenes from other films and proved that B-towners are indeed biggest copycats!

Karan Johar’s short film in Lust Stories featuring Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani managed to win hearts. KJo’s film focused on female sexuality and societal taboos. It also focused on how women are often slut shamed for being sexually active and experimental. The movie earned Kiara Advani a lot of praise and brought her back in limelight at a time when she was almost written off by the press and the industry. Karan’s anthology Lust Stories had a masturbation scene by Kiara Advani, which became the talking point of the film. However, anyone who has watched Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butller’s film The Ugly Truth will know that Kiara’s this scene has an uncanny resemblance with that of Katherine Heigl’s. The situations are different, their moment of experiencing an orgasm in an awkward situation will give you déjà vu feeling. Don’t believe us? Take a look and decide for yourself.

This isn’t the first time that Bollywood has blatantly picked a scene from a movie it most definitely was inspired. Kabir Khan’s New York starring Katrina Kaif, John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh too had borrowed from Hollywood film Crash. Remember the part where a cop frisks Katrina’s character while her husband John looks helpless. Well, Katrina and Kabir Khan received a lot of praise, but here’s the video that will make you realize that it was a copy…

When Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai released, everyone was talking about how awesome the action star was. Bhai fans went bonkers on seeing their superstar take on the wolves. Well, Ali Abbas Zafar decided to give India its Liam Neeson in Salman Khan. The filmmaker ripped an iconic fight scene from Liam’s The Grey. That’s not all; Ali seems to be a serial offender, because anyone who has watched Sultan will agree that the movie had a massive Sylvester Stallone Rocky Balboa hangover. Salman’s film Partner too was accused of being a rip-off OF Will Smith’s Hitch.
