Khichdi Team Meets Narendra Modi: Prime Minister Asks An Interesting Question!
PM Modi tasted this delicious Khichdi too!
Khichdi, the popular TV show is back on TV after 12 long years. Debuted on Star Plus in 2002 Khichdi achieved a cult status of sorts. The second season of the much talked about show titled Instant Khichdi aired on Star One in 2005. And then there was Khichdi the movie that had us absolutely hooked with all its gigs and antics with the much needed tadka, of course! And now Jhichdi is back with the original cast comprsing Supriya Pathak, Vandana Pathak, Anang Desai and Rajeev Mehta, along with Majethia. With one-hour long 20 episodes being planned to be aired over the weekends Khichdi all set to be an appointment viewing for sure.
And here comes the bit of info that had us excited. Team Khichdi went on to meet none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Yes, Majethia ensured that PM Modi watched it Reports TOI. “He had liked the movie and in fact suggested that we make a part two,” says Majethia. Says Majethia about the meeting, “He asked us, ‘Khichdi kevi paaki che’ (How is the khichdi cooked this time?). It is also reported that they had PM himself watch a few portions of the show. It was really nice of him to watch it.”
What is interesting about the return of Khichdi after the hiatus of 12 long year is that the a bunch of cameo appearances by actors such as Ratna Pathak Shah, Renuka Shahane, and Deepshika Nagpal among others will add more tadka to the already delicious Khichdi.
Producer JD Majethia maintains in his interaction with PTI that it is difficult to make sequels but the team has worked hard to tickle the funny bone of the audience once again. Ask him how he keeps the fun quotient of the show intact and pat comes the reply. "Comedy is all about getting the timing right, especially when you are on stage. But in TV shows, comedy is about chemistry and it should be there between the actors... The timing is made by director and editors."
