Prabhu Deva and Tamannah Bhatia reunite as actors for Chakri Toleti's Khamoshi. With an intriguing teaser and trailer, they did pique our interest towards the film. However, after watching the 90 minutes movie, I'm certain that I may have lost some precious time of my life. To be quite honest, I just wish they chose a better script. More on that in the review, so let's quickly understand what the film is all about. Taapsee Pannu’s Game Over or Tamannaah’s Khamoshi: Which Home Invasion Movie Are You More Excited About? Vote Now.

Surbhi, played by Tamannah Bhatia, is a deaf and dumb painter who also owns a magnanimous estate in a rather secluded locale in London. Dev, played by Prabhu Deva, is a man who is being coaxed by his father to acquire Surbhi's position as the owner of the estate because it rightfully belongs to him. Turns out, Dev's mother, left him and his father (Vikram Bhatt), adopted Surbhi and left her with so much wealth. But Dev and his father aren't the only two people eager to get Surbhi out of the way between them and the estate. Mr and Mrs Desai (played by Sanjay Suri and Bhumika Chawla respectively) are also eyeing the estate. Apparently, although not clear, Mr Desai has spent all his life to bring up the estate, which is the current subject of conflict, so he doesn't want Surbhi to donate away so much wealth to charity. Basically, everyone wants Surbhi out of their way. Do they manage to get what they want or does Surbhi manage to survive it all?

Let's first discuss the characters Surbhi and Dev. Both, Tamannah and Prabhu Deva do some justice to their characters. While Tamannah is not very convincing as a deaf and dumb individual as she can literally sniff out people from miles away (but apparently can't smell the bloodbath that took place in the house). Prabhu Deva's conflicted character, Dev, is in constant turmoil. Considering the fact that his character is schizophrenic, Prabhu Deva does manage to bring out the necessary contradiction to his character. However, my biggest concern is not even with the flaws in their characterisation. The plot is so disappointing as is the direction that you simply want to walk out of the theatre in the first 10 mins. Khamoshi: Tamannaah Bhatia, Prabhudeva Film Will Now Release on June 14 for This Reason.

The film could have literally been completed in 15 minutes but Toleti wanted to make it look like a thriller with predictable twists so he put us through so much misery. It is literally painful (not in a poignant way) to watch Prabhu Deva chase Tamannah only to let her escape in front of his eyes. Probably he was going for the whole 'play with your prey' kind of vibe by doing it. But stretching it for almost 90 mins is not fun for anyone. Especially when the thrills are so cheap. Also, what are Sanjay Suri and Bhumika Chawla doing in this film? For merely 2 scenes, they signed up for this project. And their roles weren't even as impacting as one would expect. Apart from logic and sense, a lot of things were missing from the film. However, the one thing that I didn't miss was Prabhu Deva's flexible dancing. Even when he was being hit by Tamannah with a rod, Prabhu Deva would succumb to the pain by moving like MJ. You know, he was just being his usual self.

Yay!

- Sadly, there are none!

- Maybe the scene with Prabhu Deva dancing off while being beaten could suffice?

Nay!

- Terrible script

- Horrendous storytelling

- Waste of talents

- Where does logic stand in this film? Out of the window from where Surbhi tried to escape

- Predictable action sequences

- Extremely slow and sluggish

- Nothing worth watching

Final Thoughts

Don't watch Khamoshi. Out of personal experience, I'm telling you that I was all alone at the theatre when watching this film. And now I get why. Besides, there are better movies coming out today anyway so might as well shell out money on better content!
