Kesari Box Office Collection Day 7: Akshay Kumar's Historical Drama Becomes the Fastest Film To Enter the Rs 100 Crore Club in 2019
Akshay and Parineeti's film has surpassed the Rs 100 crore mark in just 7 days!
Akshay Kumar's latest offering Kesari has entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club in just seven days. Yes, it's the fastest film to do so in 2019. Directed by Anurag Singh, the historical war drama released on March 21 and took a massive opening on day 1. Since it was Holi, the film's collection was further boosted and it ended up becoming the biggest opener of the year as well, beating Ranveer Singh's rap drama Gully Boy. While Kesari will continue to get cash registers ringing, it will be interesting to see how many records it creates on its way. Kesari Box Office Collection Day 6: Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra's Film Fares Decently on Tuesday, Mints Over Rs 93 Crore.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter a while back and announced the updated figures. He wrote, "#Kesari is now *fastest* ₹ 100 cr grosser of 2019 [so far]... Crosses ₹ 100 cr on Day 7... Thu 21.06 cr, Fri 16.75 cr, Sat 18.75 cr, Sun 21.51 cr, Mon 8.25 cr, Tue 7.17 cr, Wed 6.52. Total: ₹ 100.01 cr. India biz... ₹ 100 cr in days: #GullyBoy [Day 8]. #TotalDhamaal [Day 9]."
Further, trade portal Boxofficeindia.com stated, "Kesari recorded the highest first week of the year so far with collections at around 100 crore nett. The film beat the next best on the list Gully Boy by a decent margin. Both Kesari and Gully Boy were a Thursday release so had an extended weekend which helped the collections. Kesari will be hoping to go the Total Dhamaal way rather than the Gully Boy way post the first week onward." Kesari Box Office Collection Day 5: Akshay Kumar Starrer Witnesses a Sharp Drop on Monday, Rakes in Rs 86.32 Crore.
Jointly produced by Karan Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Sunir Khetarpal, Kesari also stars Parineeti Chopra but in a special cameo. Also, with Kesari entering the Rs 100 crore club, it has become Akki's 10th film to do so which we think is mightly impressive.
