Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra starrer Kesari is holding up well at the ticket windows. The film has been in theatres for over two weeks now and so far it has been enjoying a dream run at the Indian box office without any trouble. Directed by Anurag Singh, the historical war drama released on March 21 and ended up registering the biggest opening of this year. In fact, it's also the fastest film of 2019 to enter the Rs 100 crore club. It achieved the milestone in just seven days. And just the other day, Kesari also became Akshay's highest grossing Bollywood film to date barring 2.0. Kesari Box Office Collection Day 15: Akshay Kumar's Period War Drama Becomes His Second Highest Grossing Film After 2.0, Rakes in Rs 135.52 Crore.
With hardly any competition at the box office, Kesari is now eyeing to surpass the Rs 150 crore mark in India. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter a while back and revealed the updated figures. He wrote, "#Kesari is steady on [third] Fri... ₹ 150 cr seems a possibility, if biz jumps on [third] Sat and Sun... [Week 3] Fri 1.65 cr. Total: ₹ 137.17 cr. India biz."
Kesari, which is based on the epic Battle of Saragrahi, is also Akshay's 10th film which is a part of the Rs 100 crore club. Now that's quite an achievement in itself, no? The period war drama has beaten the lifetime business of Toilet Ek Prem Katha and Rowdy Rathore as well. Kesari Box Office Collection Day 14: Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra's Film Earns Rs 133.45 Crore.
Jointly produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Fox Star Studios, the film also features Parineeti Chopra but only in a special appearance.
