Akshay Kumar's Kesari has been in theatres for almost two weeks now and so far the film has performed really well at the Indian box office. Directed by Anurag Singh, the historical drama released on the eve of Holi and since then has been minting good money at the ticket windows. After registering the biggest opening of this year, the Akshay starrer then went on to become the fastest film of 2019 to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club. And now it's eyeing to surpass the Rs 150 crore mark in India. Kesari Box Office Collection Day 12: Akshay Kumar's Historical Drama is Going Steady, Collects Rs 128.28 Crore.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter a while back and revealed the updated figures saying, "#Kesari is slow, but steady... Target ₹ 150 cr depends on how it fares in Week 3, when new films arrive, screens/shows get reduced and biz gets divided... [Week 2] Fri 4.45 cr, Sat 6.45 cr, Sun 8.25 cr, Mon 3.27 cr, Tue 2.75 cr. Total: ₹ 131.03 cr. India biz."
Talking about the film's business, Boxofficeindia.com noted, "The second-week business will finish at around 30 crore nett. The comparative business of Total Dhamaal on its second Tuesday was 2.93 crore nett so this is a little bit lower. The film will face competition with new releases this week and it will be the third Friday which will determine where this film goes in terms of lifetime business." Kesari Box Office Collection Day 11: Akshay Kumar's Film on Battle of Saragarhi Mints Rs 125.01 Crore.
Since John Abraham starrer Romeo Akbar Walter is arriving in theatres this week along with DC's Shazam, Kesari will definitely feel the heat at the box office. However, the chances are pretty good that the film will surpass Rs 150 crore mark before ending its theatrical run in India.
