Abhishek Kapoor's pilgrim love story Kedarnath starring Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead has surpassed the Rs 50 crore mark at the Indian box office. The film, which released on December 7, has performed unexpectedly well at the ticket windows despite not impressing the critics big time. Though American superhero film Aquaman released last Friday, the film didn't hamper Kedarnath's collection at the ticket windows. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to popular microblogging site Twitter a while back and announced the updated box office figures of Sara's debut film. Kedarnath Box Office Collection: Sara Ali Khan Starrer Earns Rs 42 Crore in Week 1.

He wrote, '#Kedarnath crosses ₹ 50 cr... Maintains a strong grip in Weekend 2, despite the reduction in screens/shows + Hollywood biggie #Aquaman... Should comfortably sail past ₹ 60 cr on weekdays... [Week 2] Fri 2.50 cr, Sat 3.93 cr, Sun 5.33 cr. Total: ₹ 54.21 cr. India biz.'

Adarsh further tweeted, '#Kedarnath biz at a glance...Week 1: ₹ 42.45 cr...Weekend 2: ₹ 11.76 cr. Total: ₹ 54.21 cr India biz.'

With Kedarnath doing well at the box office, everyone is now waiting for Sara's second release Simmba. Co-starring Ranveer Singh, the action drama directed by Rohit Shetty releases on December 28. Going by the buzz around the film, it seems the young actress is likely to end the year on a big note. But both her films - Kedarnath and Simmba - could face stiff competition from Shah Rukh Khan's much-awaited film Zero which arrives this Friday on December 21. Zero New Promo: Shah Rukh Khan as Bauua Singh Makes It Rain Money - Watch Video.
