Now that is called a Happy Karwa Chauth!
The nation is celebrating the festival of Karwa Chauth today. The tradition goes that the wife observes fast for a day for the longevity of the life of her husband on Karwa Chauth. But we, as a society, have grown beyond some traditions. The very practice of fasting is now no longer limited to being the responsibility of a man. Men, too, have started fasting for the love of their lives.
It is such a beautiful scene in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, when Simran (Kajol) realises that Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) has also not eaten anything, just like her. Or the emotional scene where Pooja (Hema Malini) refuses to break her fast because she knows her husband, Raj (Amitabh Bachchan), won't be able to break his. Such scenes are no longer limited to enhance the cinematic experience. Quite a few awesome men in the entertainment industry have adopted the practice for their wife on Karwa Chauth. We are just naming down a few.
Abhishek Bachchan
Abhishek Bachchan is fasting for his wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan! He took to Twitter and revealed this while asking men to be 'dutiful' enough to do the same for their wife.
Gautam Rode
Love makes you do things you can never imagine. I have never kept a fast in life, but I'm glad that my first fast is for my wife Pankhuri who has always stood by me," Gautam has said.
Ayushmann Khurrana
Ayushmann's wife, Tahira Kashyap, had recently undergone a preventive mastectomy after doctors detected early signs of breast cancer. The actor got a Henna tattoo of the letter T on his palm, shared the pic on Twitter, and wrote, " She can’t fast this time. But I will. For her good health and long life."
Prince Narula
Prince Narula got married to the love of his life Yuvika Chaudhary just a few days back. This is the couple's first Karwa Chauth together so Prince decided to make it extra special. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Yuvika revealed that Prince is observing fast for her.
Karan Mehra
TV actor Karan Mehra has tweeted that it would be unfair to let his wife, Nisha Rawal, fast alone when she has been his partner in crime for eating food. How cute is that!

Shilpa Shetty's husband also proudly flaunted that he fasting for her.
