The remake of the hit classic comedy, Pati, Patni Aur Woh went on floors today. The remake has garnered enough attention already. Firstly, after Taapsee Pannu questioned the makers for her informal ouster from the film, which was then fuelled by the additions of two Dharma favourites- Ananya Pandey (SOTY 2) and Bhumi Pednekar (Takht) to the cast. The movie will feature Kartik Aaryan as the male lead romancing the two ladies. The first shot of the first scene took place between Kartik and Ananya today. Isn't Ananya a lucky girl? Even before her first film, Student of the Year 2, could see the light of the day, she has started her second film.

The picture from the sets was posted by producer Bhushan Kumar. In it, the actors' faces are skillfully covered by the clapboard. Maybe it is a subliminal meta-commentary on nepotism and privilege. As to how those things are there in front of the eyes, but masked just enough for us to not recognise it. But again, makers were spot on when they placed their bets on Sara Ali Khan in 2018. She starred in two hits - Kedarnath and Simmba - back to back. Maybe Ananya would prove to be just as talented. So, we'd have to give her the benefit of the doubt.

That said, we are excited to see the story once again on screen with the modern twist of course. The original Pati, Patni Aur Woh released in 1978. The movie starred Sanjeev Kumar as the male lead and was directed by BR Chopra. The movie starred Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta as female leads. The cult classic is a comical take on extra-marital affairs.

Bhumi has recently wrapped shooting for Dolly Kitty aur Wo Chamakte Sitare. She will be seen in Sonchiriya as well this year.  She also has Dharma's epic Takht in her kitty. Kartik will be seen in Luka Chippi in March. Ananya will make her Bollywood debut with SOTY 2 in May.
