Threats are not a new thing for the Bollywood filmmakers. Any historical period drama before releasing the screens, now-a-days has to face this demand for ban of the film or threats. Remember how Rajput Karni sena had done it with Deepika Padukone starrer Padmaavat? Now, the same thing is being faced by Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Karni sena in Maharashta have threatened to burn the film sets and also not allow her walk freely in the state. Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi Box Office – Why the Film’s Success Is Important for Kangana Ranaut!.
It all started when the actress boldly reacted to the threats saying, "Four historians have certified Manikarnika, we have got censor certificate as well, Karni Sena has been conveyed this but they are continuing to harass me. If they don't stop then they should know I am also a Rajput and I will destroy each one of them."
On this, Ajay Singh Sengar, president of Maharashtra Karni Sena claimed, "If she continues to threaten the members of our outfit, we will not let her walk freely in Maharashtra and will burn her film sets." Like we said above, this is not the first time that the filmmakers are facing such dilemma. During the shoot of Padmaavat, Rajput Karni Sena had vandalized the sets. Not only this, they also went to a extent of slapping director Sanjay Leela Bhansali here. Further, they threatened to chop off Deepika's nose and demanded a ban on the film. But as we all know, the film released on the said date, won hearts and shattered the box office in no time. Will Manikarnika: the Queen of Jhansi, releasing on January 25 be able to create same magic?
