Every year, July 26 is observed as Kargil Vijay Diwas to celebrate the victory of the Indian Army in Operation Vijay against infiltrating Pakistani troops, while defending the country’s integrity. On this day, our brave servicemen of the armed forces, who laid down their lives to re-capture all positions that had been seized by Pakistan Army, are remembered for their courage, bravery and dedication. Speaking of paying tribute on this occasion, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi too took to the micro-blogging site to share some pictures of his visit to Kargil during the conflict and his interaction with the soldiers. In his tweet, PM Modi wrote, "During the Kargil War in 1999, I had the opportunity to go to Kargil and show solidarity with our brave soldiers.
