Saroj Khan’s comments on ‘casting couch’ created stir in the industry. While some of them spoke against the ongoing unfortunate norm in the industry, the Veere Di Wedding actresses refrained for speaking on the issue. During the trailer launch of the film, Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania were asked about the statements done by the choreographer. They were also asked whether it exists in the industry. However, Swara answered diplomatically saying that the question is nowhere related to the VDW movie and they should only stick to the same. Clearly, the girls chose to keep mum on the current sensitive and burning topic in the town.
For the uninitiated, Saroj Khan was seen saying in a video, “This has been happening since time immemorial. Somebody or the other tries to get cozy with every girl. Even people in the government do it. Why are you after the film industry? At least the industry provides employment. After all, it isn’t as if you are raped and abandoned. (Yeh chala aa raha hai baba aadam ke zamaane se. Har ladki ke upar koi na koi haath saaf karne ki koshish karta hai. Government ke log bhi karte hain. Tum film industry ke peeche kyun pade ho? Woh kam se kam roti toh deti hai. Rape karke chhod toh nahi deti).”

Meanwhile, Sonam Kapoor was repeatedly asked about her marriage with Anand Ahuja. She insisted on sticking to VDW and thanked the media for keeping patience regarding her own wedding as well. Well, looks like the Veeres are in no mood to attract any controversy at this point of time.
