Auditioning and reading for roles is not exactly how things work around in Bollywood. In case you did not know already. While in Hollywood, even big actors have to read for the parts, in Bollywood films are simply offered. Priyanka Chopra gave her first audition ever when she got the opportunity to star in Quantico. Now, Kareena Kapoor Khan has also joined the league of actors who are secure enough to read for a role. In a new interview with Rajeev Masand, the actress revealed that Aamir Khan made her read a few scenes before roping her in for Laal Singh Chadha, the Bollywood remake of Forrest Gump.

In the interview, while making the revelation, Kareena reasoned, “I think he wanted to be like 100% sure," Aamir Khan Receives a Special Gift from Punjabi Singer Gippy Grewal, Actor to Sport It in Laal Singh Chadha.

She added, "So very randomly, out of the blue, I got a call from Aamir. ‘I want you to hear this film, this and that and I am very excited about it.’ So it just happened very organically. I heard the script like just then the minute he called me and he was just like let’s read some scenes. I want you to read some scenes. So I was like yeah, I have never done anything like this. I thought like what the hell. I want to see myself if I want to do this or not and you know there is nothing wrong in that,”

Kareena was totally chill with it, BTW. "I think the times are changing and if I don’t evolve and I behave like I am some diva or this is beyond me," she said.

Also, giving her the right push was her husband Saif Ali Khan. She said, "Saif was the one who told me ‘What’s wrong with you? Even an Al Pacino would test for the part. There is nothing wrong, we all have to be sure as actors and artists.’”

Kareena and Aamir have starred together in hit movies like Talaash and 3 Idiots. They delivered some hard-hitting melancholic scenes in the former, while we fell in love with their palpable, humourous chemistry in the latter. Can't wait to see what they bring to the table now.
