Kareena Kapoor's Netflix debut film Jaane Jaan is directed and written by Sujoy Ghosh. Apart from Kareena, actors Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat will be in prominent roles. In this thriller film, Kareena plays the role of Maya D'Souza, a woman covered in mystery, while Jaideep plays the role of the neighbor, and Vijay plays the role of a police officer named Karan, who hails from Mumbai. The intriguing tale is set in Kalimpong. The film was officially announced in 2022 and is based on the 2005 novel The Devotion of Suspect X by the popular Japanese author Keigo Higashino.

Acclaimed filmmaker Hansal Mehta's upcoming film, a thriller noir drama tentatively named The Buckingham Murders, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, is now generating a lot of hype. In The Buckingham Murders, Kareena will be portraying a character who is both a detective and a mother, investigating a murder in a town in Buckinghamshire. During an interview with Variety, Kareena Said 'I love ‘Mare of Easttown’ and when Hansal came to me, I said this is something that I’ve really been dying to do.
