Karan Johar is returning to the director's chair after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, with what is being called his magnum opus, Takht. There is still time for the movie to go on floors, let alone release. The movie is set in the Mughal era and boasts of a star cast that only Dharma Productions could have brought together. Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor Khan are only two of the starry names from the cast. In an interview with DNA, Karan has said,"[Takht] has a beautiful mix of stars and actors," Ranveer Singh CONFIRMS That He Is Playing Dara Shikoh in Karan Johar's Takht (Watch Video).

Talking about Kareena, with whom he reuniting after Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Karan Johar has expressed his excitement. He added, "She is my favourite. We’re just a phone call away for each other. I can’t think of anyone else for the character that Kareena plays in the historical. Though Karan is already co-producing the upcoming Ranveer starrer Simmba, he is yet to work with the actor as a director. He also spoke about working with Ranveer Singh for the first time. "Ranveer has great energy. Over a period of time, we have become the best of friends and we can share almost everything now. I’m excited to work with him because not only is he one of the finest actors that we have in this generation, but he also adds a mad, positive vibe to anything he does and I just love that," he said.

Dharma Productions has quite a glitzy lineup movies in the coming years. They have already tasted success this year with Raazi and Dhadak. Then they are presenting the Hindi version of 2.0. They are also co-producing Simmba. Next year they have Student of the Year 2, Drive, Kesari, Kalank.
