Karan Johar becomes the first ever Indian filmmaker to get waxed at Madame Tussauds! An overwhelmed Karan took to social media to share the good news with fans where he tweeted saying, "Honoured to be the first filmmaker from India at the prestigious @MadameTussauds ...thank you to the entire team in London who worked tirelessly ...will have further details about when and where soon!!! #MadameTussauds #iifamadametusaauds". Isn't this simply awesome? It is indeed a big deal for KJo, whose work has been always been appreciated across several countries. Karan is one of the most talented filmmakers we have ever had and we think he has only made Bollywood even more proud as he has bagged this prestigious honour.

According to a report in DNA, fans and visitors often have always wanted to know why his name wasn't added to the statue earlier. So, on public demand, the authorities finally decided to ‘wax’ Karan. And the first step began on his recent trip to the UK, with his sittings with Madame Tussauds’ creative directors and the Merlin Studios in London last Thursday (April 12), reports the daily.

Karan's wax statue at Madame Tussauds is going to be unveiled in a rather unusual way. It will be unveiled in one city, and will then head out on a tour across Asia, so that his other fans get an opportunity to see it. Not just that,  his fans will also get a chance to interact with him. As of now, the production of this special wax figure is undergoing a complicated combination of traditional sculpting with modern-day technology and will take around six months for the final statue to be ready. Until then, let's wait and celebrate this good news!
