Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika Ready To Release! Actress Wins Copyrights Case Against Ketan Mehta
Filmmaker Ketan Mehta had sent legal notice claiming that it was his script and working title that she ‘hijacked’!
Kangana Ranaut is back in the limelight and how! The fiery actress has been dealing with situations constantly when it came to her upcoming film ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. From being called as a ‘ghost director’ to co-star Sonu Sood’s ouster, the movie has been in the controversy. One more time it made headlines was due to filmmaker Ketan Mehta’s legal notice claiming that it was his script and working title that she ‘hijacked’! However, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has closed an inquiry into the complaint filed by the director in 2017.
As reported in Midday, a source close to Kangana said, “We have won the case. Ketan claimed that we stole his script. We submitted ours and they closed the case."
Earlier, Ketan was quoted by HT saying, “This is regarding my project called Rani of Jhansi: The Warrior Queen and her attempt and the producer Kamal Jain at hijacking the project. Since 2015, I was in contact with Kangana for the project. I was sharing research material and several drafts of the script with Kangana and she was actively participating. My legal notice says how we have worked on the project for two years and how all of a sudden everything happened. We have asked for the film to stop as we plan to go ahead with our project.” #MeToo Movement in India Might Take Longer to Affect Us, Thanks To Cat Fights By A-Listers Like Sonam Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut.
Meanwhile, Kangana recently accused ‘Queen’ director Vikas Bahl of sexually harassing her on the sets. She also described how she supports all the allegations made against the ‘Super 30’ director by the women. As the film is now out of this legal case, she can rest assured!
