With just a couple of days to go for the release of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, producer Kamal Jain has been hospitalised. The news broke out on January 19 night after Kamal Jain took to the micro-blogging site to post about his health and wrote, "Dear friends, this certainly is not the best time to be in hospital. Hope to get well soon and enjoy the success of our collective dream & hardwork. Meanwhile, speculations were rife that the producer suffered a paralytic stroke and has been hospitalised in a critical condition. However, the online portal quoted a Kangana Ranaut as saying, "He is doing fine. The reports are misleading. He fell sick last week and is on his way to recovery. I am in touch with him everyday. Request everyone to please stop backing sensational reports."

Talking about Jain's upcoming directorial venture, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi stars Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. Helmed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the film is slated to release on January 25, 2019. Interestingly, the film is clashing with Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 and Emraan Hashmi's Cheat India.
