Kangana Ranaut Claims a Scene in Manikarnika Was Changed Because of Cow Vigilantism - Watch Video
With this interview, Kangana has made clearer her own right-wing leanings.
It was bound to happen. When it was announced that Kangana Ranaut will be interviewing Sadhguru on stage, fireworks were expected to happen. And it did, as both the actress and Sadhguru made some controversial statements that are being trolled on social media. Two of the primary targets of their conversation has been the recent lynchings happening in the name of cow vigilantism and the whole liberal vs right wing war going on in the country.
During the interview, Kangana revealed that she was all for saving cows, while narrating an anecdote from her upcoming movie, Manikarnika. The movie is a biopic on the legendary Jhansi Ki Rani. PTI quotes her saying, " I'm working on a martyr's biopic Manikarnika where there is a scene where my protagonist, Laxmi Bai, goes and saves a calf. My crew had a discussion, we halted the shoot. They said 'we can't save a calf' because we don't want to look like cow savers."
She later adds, "When such a prejudice thrives, as a person you feel very protective of who you are and what your values are, and you want to save all animals and you definitely want to save the cows because the prejudice is really agonising. But lynching for cows takes place and you look like an idiot. You feel conflicted. You want to save the animals but when the lynching happens, you feel heartbroken at what's going on. You feel this is wrong."

As for her distaste for liberals, Kangana had this to say, '"people who won’t include you in their group unless you hate the same people as they do."
With this interview, Kangana has made clearer her own right-wing leanings. Earlier during the red-carpet screening of the short film Chalo Jeete Hain, based on PM Modi's childhood, Kangana had declared him as the best PM India has ever had. Many on Twitter are feeling that she might be paving her own political path with BJP with these declarations.
