Kajol Urges People to Use Toilets and Practise Safe Sanitation in a New PSA for Swachh Bharat Campaign (Watch Video)

The Swachh Bharat campaign has been one of the biggest pet projects of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a new PSA, we see Kajol spreading awareness about using toilets and adopting the practice of safe sanitation. Watch the video featuring Kajol inside.

In a new public service advertisement, spreading awareness about the Swachh Bharat campaign introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we see Kajol urging people to use toilets and talks about the need to maintain sanitation. The PSA was shared by the Press Information Bureau of India on its Twitter account on September 16. The advertisement features Kajol as a reporter interviewing a young girl who has passed the Medical examination. The motive behind the ad is to spread awareness about the need for constructing toilets in their homes.

In the video, we the girl thanking her father for providing her with the safety and security of building a toilet in their home and discontinuing the unsafe procedure of defecating in the open. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan which was launched in 2014 is one of the pet projects of Prime Minister Modi. The programme aims to rid the practice of open defecation in India which has existed due to the lack of toilets. Several celebrities have shown their support for this initiative in the past.

Akshay Kumar's 2017 film Toilet Ek Prem Katha also highlighted the Swachh Bharat campaign and was a social commentary on the issue of open defecation and lack of toilets in rural areas. As per official figures, the government has succeeded in building over 90 million toilets so far.
