If you have seen the original film, Arjun Reddy releasing in Telugu, you would get the idea that its Bollywood remake, Kabir Singh, is quite aggressive in nature. And if you haven't, the trailers themselves give you a pretty good idea. Directed by Sandeep Vanga, who also helmed the original, Kabir Singh is about a medical student with anger management issues who goes on a path of self-destruction after a bad breakup. Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani play the leads in the remake. Kabir Singh Song Tera Ban Jaunga: Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani's Lovely Chemistry Makes This Song Special (Watch Video).
The original film had plenty of scenes of substance abuse, colourful language and passionate kissing scenes between the lead stars. The remake, going by the promos and the songs, aren't void of these ingredients. So we were curious to see how Kabir Singh would fare at the office of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) or Censor Board, as it is popularly known,
It has been reported that Kabir Singh has been certified "A", which means "Adults Only". This is also confirmed by the website of CBFC, that also gave us details of scenes that won't reach the audience. For an organisation that once reduced a kissing scene of James Bond in SPECTRE, such scenes in Kabir Singh were, fortunately, given a reprieve here.
Instead, the Board recommended modifying a scene involving drug abuse, asking makers to use a side shot instead of a front shot. Anti-drug disclaimers are also inserted in such scenes. Kabir Singh Trailer Review: Shahid Kapoor Nails his Arjun Reddy act and How! Watch Video.
Interestingly, for a movie rated 'Adults Only', cuss words have been muted for some reason. So all those MC's and BC's will not be heard in the theatrical version.

Still, Kabir Singh has gotten away lightly, compared to similar movies that had to face the Board's ire in the past. The runtime of the movie has also been revealed which comes to 174 minutes, that means Kabir Singh is nearly three hours long. The movie is all set to release on June 21.
