Professionally, 2019 has turned out to be a special year for Shahid Kapoor. The talented actor has been in the industry for over a decade now and has tasted both commercial and critical success. But this year the Kapoor lad has delivered his biggest solo hit ever in the form of Kabir Singh. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and co-starring Kiara Advani, the movie is a remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy and is currently ruling the Indian box office. The film opened to mixed reviews on June 21 but Sasha has been widely praised by the critics for his performance.   • Kabir Singh, which has already entered the coveted Rs 200 crore club, is Shahid Kapoor's biggest solo hit ever.

  • By raking in Rs 20.21 crore on day 1, the movie became Shahid's biggest opener to date.

  • Along with that, Kabir Singh also became the highest non-holiday opener of 2019.

  • Kabir Singh minted Rs 70 crore in the opening weekend and became the biggest non-holiday opening weekend grosser of 2019.

  • The Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy also broke the Sunday record set by Salman Khan's Bharat by earning Rs 27.91 crore on its first Sunday. Bharat had collected Rs 27 crore.

  • On day 5, Kabir Singh crossed the Rs 100 crore mark and became the second fastest film to do so this year after Salman Khan's Bharat.

  • Shahid and Kiara's film is currently the third highest grossing film of 2019. The second highest grossing film is Salman's Bharat and sitting at the top is Vicky Kaushal's blockbuster's Uri - The Surgical Strike.

  • Apart from that, Kabir Singh is only A- certified Hindi movie which has managed to earn over Rs 200 crore at the domestic box office.

  • Lastly, Kabir Singh is Shahid's first solo film ever to surpass the Rs 100 crore mark and Rs 200 crore mark at the Indian box office.
