Last week, Chuck Russell's Bollywood directorial debut Junglee arrived in theatres alongside Salman Khan's production venture Notebook. While the latter failed to pack a solid punch at the box office, Junglee on the other hand, performed slightly better at the ticket windows on its first day. In fact, Vidyut Jammwal starrer did pretty well over the weekend as well despite receiving not-so-great reviews from the critics. However, the action-adventure is now struggling to stay afloat at the box office. After witnessing a sharp dip in its collection on Monday, the film performed poorly on Tuesday too. Junglee Box-Office Collection Day 4: Vidyut Jammwal starrer maintains a steady Momentum, Collects RS 16.25 cr.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter a while back and announced the updated figures. He wrote, "#Junglee maintains at low levels... Trends lower than #Commando2... Much depends on its biz in Weekend 2, when new films arrive and screens/shows are reduced... Fri 3.35 cr, Sat 4.45 cr, Sun 6.05 cr, Mon 2.40 cr, Tue 1.90 cr. Total: ₹ 18.15 cr. India biz."
Further, Boxofficeindia.com stated, "Junglee will have a first week of 20-20.50 crore nett and it is fairly steady on weekdays and if it can get to 30 crore nett it will be a respectable figure. It will depend on what numbers the film hits on Friday. It will have to stay in that 1 crore nett range or higher." Junglee Box Office Collection Day 3: Vidyut Jammwal's Jungle Drama Collects a Decent Sum of Rs 13.85 Crore in its Opening Weekend.
Talking about Notebook, the romantic drama which marked the acting debut of Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl is having a tough time in drawing the crowd to the cinema halls. So far the film has managed to mint around Rs 3.40 crore which is very disappointing considering Notebook is backed by Salman Khan.
