John Abraham's Parmanu Gets KriArj Entertainment Back on Its New Poster; Movie Out on May 25
Interestingly, three other Bollywood movies are coming out on the same day - Harshvardhan Kapoor's Bhavesh Joshi, Govinda's FryDay and Kay Kay Menon's 3 Devs, not to mention Hollywood biggie, Solo: A Star Wars Story.
All is well, it seems, between John Abraham's production company and Prernaa Arora's KriArj Entertainment over their upcoming movie, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran. The productions companies were in a messy legal battle after John Abraham, who also plays the main lead in the movie, cancelled the agreement with KriArj over non-payment of dues and declared his company as the sole producer. KriArj fought back, denying the allegations and claiming that such a cancellation was illegal and that there were no issues with payments from their end.
Issues escalated when John released a poster, taking off KriArj's name from it, and later also a teaser, which KriArj forbade media to share until the time the issue is solved. But the new poster that came out some time ago has KriArj back as the producer of the movie. This means that John Abraham and Prernaa Arora have come to some truce to allow the release of the film.
As per a report in DNA that came back two days ago, a source close to both the producers revealed, "There was no dispute over the Rs 5 crore that KriArj was to pay John and as per the contract terms, it will be cleared upon delivery (of the product). Now that things have been sorted on paper legally, they will be implemented as soon as possible, keeping the release date in mind."
Parmanu is directed by Abhishek Sharma, and also stars Diana Penty and Boman Irani. About the film, Abraham said: "Parmanu is an ode to the Army and scientists, who although ordinary people, truly accomplished extraordinary feats in the face of adversity to ensure that India finds its due place on the world nuclear map."
Parmanu is now scheduled to release on May 25.
