John Abraham: Love Stories That Have Been Offered to Me Have Been with Men
After Romeo Akbar Walter- RAW, John has the comedy, Pagalpanti to look forward to. He will also be seen in the cop drama, Batla House.
Do not be fooled by the headline. Indian cinema is not there yet where it will offer an A-lister a gay role. Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga featuring Sonam Kapoor is as scarce as hen's teeth. So, what John wants to say is that most of the love stories he has starred in had a stronger storyline for leading men than the leading ladies. John's next film, titled Romeo Akbar Walter, is releasing this Friday. The movie has received good reviews from the critics, BTW. While promoting the film, John was asked about doing a love story next, taking a break from the patriotic films.
John, answering the question, told Mid-Day, "The funny thing is that the love stories that have been offered to me have been with men. I did Garam Masala [2005] with Akshay [Kumar], Dostana with Abhishek, and recently Dishoom [2016] with Varun Dhawan. So, I am yearning to do a love story with a female protagonist opposite me,"

Dostana featured John pretending to be a gay man in order to rent a room in a flat with Priyanka Chopra. There were numerous rumours about a sequel of the film being in works. But now, we can lay those rumours to rest. Let us admit it guys, it is not happening.
Speaking more about his recent propensity to doing patriotic films, John told IANS, "Its a sheer coincidence that I am doing it with every film. Of course, I love my country and I think anybody who doesn't love his country has a problem... I feel it's by default and not by design."
