Jogira Sara Ra Ra Movie Review: Director Kushan Nandy's Jogira Sara Ra Ra, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Neha Sharma as the lead pair, is a quirky slice-of-life drama with nothing new to offer, but riding on the mighty shoulders of two talented actors, Nawaz and the ever-so-dependable Sanjay Mishra, this film doesn't disappoint. The plot may across as an outdated affair, but some brilliantly written sequences and equally quirky performances ensure that the audiences have a smooth ride along with some moments to giggle at the cinema. Nawazuddin Siddiqui Slammed for Saying Depression is a ‘City Thing’; Netizens Remind Him of Farmer Suicides
Nawaz plays a wedding planner who is against the idea of getting married as he doesn't want to make the same mistake his clients merrily do. He has promised that he will never tie the knot thanks to the 'army' of women in his family who have left a bitter taste in his mouth about life in general and about much hyped 'matrimonial bliss' in particular. The six women in his household are a constant reminder for the star wedding planner that marriage doesn't equate to happiness and our hero swears by the rule.
Things take an unexpected turn when the boy (read: man) meets the girl (an oomphalicious Neha Sharma) who has gatecrashed a wedding and is honest enough to declare on the mic that the food she had at the reception is the worst thing she has ever tasted in her life. The girl's wildness coupled with her stark honesty makes our hero fall for her. Soon some hard-to-believe scenarios are dished out in the form of a planned kidnapping. Troubles started brewing large when real kidnappers from the town too get involved to make an already sticky situation even messier.

Clearly, this isn't your regular love-at-first-sight saga extending into a screwball comedy. The quirks are unusual and the situational comedy is served with the right amount of drama. And yet the film looks outdated. The makers, therefore, throw in some more wild characters to spice up the story. And guess what! It does work! So you have  Lallu (Mahaakshay Chakraborty), the criminal Chaudhary (Sanjay Mishra) and a pair of police inspectors named Yadav (Vishwanath Chatterjee and Ghanshyam Garg) joining the party only to make the affair fun (in parts). Nawazuddin Siddiqui Slams Media Reports of Him Supporting Ban on The Kerala Story, Calls It 'Cheap TRP'
At 120 minutes, Jogira Sa Ra Ra is a fun watch, but lots of characters employed to distract you from the movie's obvious potholes start getting on your nerves after a point. Some smart lines keep you hooked but some really stretched farcical situations completely put you off--it's the classic case of too many cooks spoiling the broth scenario being played here. The music is largely forgettable and the screenplay could have been crisper. The tout editing and fine writing clearly save the day for this quirky film.
As for the performances, Neha Sharma and Nawaz never look like a jodi in love. While the former delivers lines with high pitch the latter also hams delightfully, especially in sequences featuring the two. Sanjay Mishra is an absolute scene stealer here, who knows how to employ his range to deliver exactly what his part majorly needed. The rest of the cast has been employed to cause the much-needed mayhem including Zarina Wahab and Mahakshay who only support the ruckus created to propel the plot.

Final Thoughts

Jogira Sa Ra Ra is an average (and outdated) affair and yet it works to most extent thanks to lots of quirks, some cleverly written sequences and the irreplaceable Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanjay Mishra!
