The Jio MAMI Movie Mela with Star has started with a bang! Deepika Padukone, the chairperson, walked in for the event in a beautiful gown with polka dots. She looked radiant in the outfit designed by Dubai-based designer Marmar Halim. She kept her look simple yet chic. At the event, Deepika Padukone discussed in length about her marital life, her past works and also about her upcoming project. The leggy lass has spoken about her next film and she has confirmed that it is a dark film, but it is still in the romance space.

Deepika Padukone recently wrapped up two projects – Chhapaak and 83 The Film. Fans were waiting to know what would be her next project and that’s when pictures of DP paying a visit at ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office hit the internet. It was at the end of September when DP was spotted outside SLB office and that made fans wonder is her next film with him. And it was just days later when Ranveer Singh was also spotted outside SLB’s office. Well, those doubts are yet to be cleared.

But Deepika Padukone is definitely having a new film with her and she has spoken about it at the Jio MAMI Movie Mela with Star. Talking about the project that DP is going to start early next year, she said, “So, I’ve found a film that I’ll likely do early next year…but it’s not light. It will be quite dark, but it’s still in the romance space.”

From Deepika Padukone visiting Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office to this statement, we wonder if this film is with the ace filmmaker or some other director. We all know that Deepika is SLB’s muse and in the past he has roped her as the leading lady for romantic films and period drama such as Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. If this upcoming film is with SLB, then it would be fourth time that Deepika would be collaborating with him. Will Deepika be once again paired opposite Ranveer Singh?
