Jeetendra Gets Booked for Sexual Assault Case in Shimla, FIR Registered Against the Actor
The girl in the question reportedly mentioned that the actor forced himself upon her in a drunk state when she was 18 and he was 28.
Veteran actor Jeetendra has been pulled up into legal mess after his distant relative has accused him of sexual harassment, 47 years ago. The star has been now booked by Shimla police post an official complaint made by his cousin. As per the reports in The Indian Express, Shimla’s Superintendent of Police Umapati Jamwal confirmed and said, “an FIR under section 354 IPC has been registered at Chotta Shimla police station. After her email, we got in touch with the complainant, who later had also sent us a written complaint to support her version”.
The girl in the question reportedly mentioned that the actor forced himself upon her in a drunk state when she was 18 and he was 28 when they were outdoors for a shoot. However, Jeetendra's lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee called these allegations baseless and ridiculous.
The lawyer earlier issued an official statement saying, “Foremost my client specifically and categorically denies any such incident. Besides even otherwise such baseless, ridiculous and fabricated claims cannot be entertained by any Court of law or the law enforcement agencies after a span of almost 50 years. The Statute has provided a justice delivery system through the Courts, and the Limitation Act 1963 was specifically enacted to ensure that all genuine complaints are made within a maximum time limit of three years so that a proper investigation is carried out and timely justice is delivered.”
There has been no official statement from the Parichay actor and his family yet. Post your thoughts on this in the comments section below and stay tuned.
