A user on the X platform recently shared a meme on a popular social media app. This meme drew a comparison between a scene from the recent Bollywood movie Jawan and a scene from the 2006 film Apocalypto, directed by Mel Gibson. Apocalypto is an adventurous epic set in the 16th century during the decline of the Mayan civilization. In Jawan, the scene in question unfolds during the film's prologue. It features Shah Rukh Khan's character, Vikram Rathore, who is discovered nearly lifeless by a tribe residing near the northeastern border of India. To tend to his injuries and mend his wounds, the village's medicine person employs an unconventional method. They use ant mandibles, that is, ants' heads and pincers as makeshift sutures to close his wounds before wrapping him in bandages.

It appears that director Atlee drew inspiration from Apocalypto for this 'ant-suturing' concept, although the context in both films differs significantly. It's worth noting that this method of treatment is not exclusive to Native American tribes but is also practiced by certain tribes in India, according to some articles based on unverified sources.

So, can we conclusively assert that Atlee lifted this scene from Apocalypto? Well, it's more accurate to say that he was inspired by the idea, but the context of the scenes in both films plays out quite differently, and Atlee's adaptation anyway lasts only a few seconds on screen.
