The newly launched Jawan trailer has confirmed one thing, which many had already known - Shah Rukh Khan is having a double role in the film, playing identical looking father and son (a concept Indian cinema is a fan of for decades). The Atlee directorial establishes that Jawan is a revenge action drama with heist elements, with papa SRK playing an army major and son SRK donning the khakee (for the first time in the actor's career, though he had played a cop in Shashilal K Nair's One 2 Ka 4). Of course, this is not the first time Shah Rukh Khan has played double role in a movie, or in one instance, he has even done a triple role. However, not every film where he did this stunt has met with a good reception at the box office. But before we go ahead and list down the films where you saw two or more SRK's on screen, check out the Hindi trailer of Jawan here first, ICYMI:

Fan

Shah Rukh Khan in Fan

Box Office Verdict: Flop

In Maneesh Sharma's Fan, Shah Rukh Khan played both a ruling superstar and his dangerous obsessed fan. While SRK's look as the thinner, much younger Gaurav was praised, the audience was not ready for this dark take on fandom when it came out in theatres.

So in totality, Shah Rukh Khan had two blockbusters and one hit out of eight films where he did double roles, while the other five movies did unsatisfactory business at the box office. So will Jawan manage to tip the scales more to the positive side? Let's wait and watch when the film comes out on September 7.
