Janhvi Kapoor Asked About Sridevi at Dhadak Trailer Launch Was Insensitive and Uncalled For

Dear Media, can we NOT ask Janhvi how she feels about Sridevi?

The trailer of Karan Johar's Dhadak was launched yesterday. Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, who will be seen romancing in Dhadak, were also present at the trailer launch. The trailer received a thunderous response from the media and Janhvi and Ishaan were overwhelmed with the kind of reaction their trailer got. During the Q and A session, one of the journalists brought up the topic of Janhvi's late mother Sridevi which left the Dhadak girl teary-eyed.

Now, having been a part of the industry for so long, I know for a fact that trailer launch and other such events that the media is a part of are bound to invite controversial questions. How the celebrity reacts to it is a different thing altogether. However, I fail to understand why would anybody bring up the topic of a girl's mother who passed away only a few months back. Was it just me or was the question about Sridevi actually uncalled for? I mean, the trailer was good enough to get you good traffic on your website and channels anyway.

While Janhvi, Khushi and Boney put on a happy face everywhere they go, deep down inside, we know they are trying to cope with the loss of the late actress. Sridevi was close to Khushi and Janhvi and we all know that pretty well. Considering that, we should ideally be giving them more space and privacy and be sensible enough to not ask them anything about Sridevi, at least as of now while the wound is still fresh. We already saw how nervous Janhvi was since it was her first ever official public event. It was a huge mistake on our part, as the media, to have asked her questions about Sridevi.

We sincerely hope that this never happens again. Let's be a little more empathetic of the other person's situations and ask better questions. Let Sridevi rest in peace and Janhvi work in peace.
