While remakes have become the new cool in Bollywood, an upcoming remake has already hit a road block. The Hindi remake of acclaimed Hollywood film ‘The Girl on the Train’, to be helmed by Ribhu Dasgupta, has reportedly be shelved as it has failed to find a producer. The Bollywood version of the flick was supposed to have Jacqueline Fernandez in the role of Emily Blunt, the lead in the original one. However, even before finalizing the rest of the cast, the makers are reportedly facing financial problems to continue with this much anticipated movie.

As per the reports in DNA, a source told, “The makers wanted to finalise the script and approach other actors for different roles in the thriller. But none of this has happened so far. All that we know is Jacqueline is on board.” Just at this early stage of film processing, the makers are finding it difficult to find the financer for the project.

Another source told the daily, “The makers haven’t been able to find any financiers who are willing to invest in the movie, which is why it’s stuck. There’s no clarity on whether this film has been put on hold or has been shelved. But as of now, it’s definitely not happening.”

Apart from this movie, Jacqueline has mega films in her store like Salman Khan starrer Race 3, Kick 2. She was last seen in the hit remake Judwaa 2 starring Varun Dhawan. With the fate of the film being uncertain, we wonder if it has been pushed or is the idea cancelled. Stay tuned to LatestLY for further updates.
