The rehashes of cult songs and films is the latest trend that Bollywood makers have caught up with. The latest iconic film that will be remade is Mahesh Bhatt's Arth (1982) that had starring Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Shabana Azmi, Smita Patil in the lead. The film is said to be the semi-autobiographical take on Bhatt's own extramarital affair with Parveen Babi. Now, south actress Revathi has donned the director's hat for the remake which will star Jacqueline Fernandez. Smita Patil's role as the 'other woman' was considered to be a path-breaking one in that era. The film received enormous love from the critics and cinema lovers. Now, Jacqueline is said to step into her shoes as the actress.

Mumbai Mirror quotes a source saying, "Now, with that in place, the makers reached out to Jacqueline recently and she really liked both, the concept and her role. She is really excited to be a part of the remake of an iconic film like Arth and has given her verbal consent to the part but is yet to sign on the dotted line." She is also taking acting lessons at Ivana Chubbuck Studio in Los Angeles so that she is able to do all kinds of roles.

Not just Arth, but Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini starrer Satte Pe Satta is also getting a revamp soon. According to the reports, Hrithik Roshan has been roped in, for this Farah Khan directorial. Looks like the filmmakers are keen to give a contemporary twist to the gems of past and we wait for the outcome now!
