Jaaved Jaaferi, popular actor and television personality, is a proud father. He is awaiting the release of Malaal, that will launch his son, Meezaan in Bollywood. Malaal is a Sanjay Leela Bhansali production, and the movie also launches his niece, Sharmin Segal, as the female lead. So we can say that Meezaan is in quite safe hands. The trailer of Malaal has also got appreciation from different quarters of the industry and many eyes will be affixed on July 5, when the movie is scheduled to release, to see if these two debutantes will achieve cult status. But not everyone is happy with this news. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Malaal Postponed: Sharmin Segal and Meezaan Starrer Will Now Release on This Date.

Whenever any star kids are launched in the industry, there is an immediate accusation from the detractors under the term, 'nepotism'. Even Meezaan and Sharmin couldn't escape these kinds of criticisms, but Meezaan's father is ready to take on some of the complainants himself.

Recently, Kamaal R Khan, or KRK, as he is popularly known, tweeted about these debutantes, while criticising the practice of filmmakers of launching star kids. He even goes on to call them 'duffer actors'. Check out his tweet below:

Jaaved has a strong response to KRK's tweet. While calling out his tweet as the 'frustrated voice of a failed actor' (KRK had acted as the lead in Deshdrohi and in a supporting role in Ek Villain), Jaaved reminded him that not just his son, there are many benefactors of nepotism that the audiences have accepted over the years. He then goes on to list the examples of Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan etc to press on his point. Malaal Trailer: Is Sharmin Segal and Meezaan Jaaferi’s Love Story Inspired by Tamil Film 7/G Rainbow Colony?

Check out his tweet below:

Jaaved posted another tweet, where he reminds KRK that no one puts money on untalented actors. Also, that star kids may get a big launch, but the career afterwards depends entirely on their mettle.

At the time of writing this piece, KRK has yet to react on Jaaved Jaaferi's tweets. Whatever your stance may be on nepotism, you can't deny that Jaaved did right by standing by his son and silencing his critics for writing him off, even before the release of the film.
