It’s Official! Kareena Kapoor Khan to Play a Cop in Irrfan Khan Starrer Angrezi Medium

Recently, actress Kareena Kapoor was confirmed to be a part of Irrfan Khan's Hindi Medium sequel, Angrezi Medium, which went on floors in Udaipur this month (April). While fans can't seem to contain their excitement with Kareena’s addition to the film, the actress too expressed her excitement on working in the film with Irrfan in a recent interview. Excited Kareena, talking about her role in the film, had said, "It’s a small but interesting part as I just wanted to go out of the comfort zone and do a movie which throws me into a different milieu and I would see how it goes. Whether its Homi (Adajania) or Irrfan and Deepak (Dobriyal), it's a different world for me to be a part of," further adding, that hers is not a romantic pairing with Irrfan in Angrezi Medium. Confirmed! On Thursday, confirming that Kareena is a part of Angrezi Medium, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the micro-blogging site to reveal the actress' role in the film. He wrote, "IT'S OFFICIAL... Kareena Kapoor Khan in #AngreziMedium... She plays a cop in the film... Stars Irrfan Khan... Directed by Homi Adajania... Produced by Dinesh Vijan... #AngreziMedium will be filmed in London this June." Well, we can't wait to see Kareen play the cop in Angrezi Medium.

Talking about Kareena's role in Angrezi Medium, producer Dinesh Vijan, in an interview with an entertainment portal, said, "Here, she plays a cop, a role she’s actually never done before. We will be shooting in London this June, and it will be great to be back on set with her."

He further added, "Kareena is a great addition to our franchise. Angrezi Medium is a very special film, and I’m excited that she’s going to be a part of it. We wanted to introduce this character who would be taken forward in the franchisees to come, and she’s perfect for it."

Helmed by Homi Adajania of Cocktail fame, the film will tell a new story about Irrfan’s onscreen daughter, who goes to London for higher studies. Bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan, the film features Radhika Madan as Irrfan's daughter. The crew will be shooting in Rajasthan till April end, after which they move to London as in the film Irrfan's daughter has aspirations of studying abroad. Watch this space for further updates.
