Aamir Khan Has Backed Out of Mogul Because of Director Subhash Kapoor

As expected, Aamir Khan does nothing that strays away from perfection. When he was asked about Tanushree Dutta-Nana Patekar controversy during the Thugs of Hindostan trailer launch, Aamir, without taking sides, solemnly said that if such an incident happened, then it should be investigated properly. As the #MeToo movement got stronger and horror stories of victims came out, accusing popular celebs like Alok Nath and Abhijeet Bhattacharya of sexual misconduct, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao had a meeting with Producer's Guild.

Sometime back, Aamir put out a note that shows his solidarity towards the ongoing #MeToo movement, while confirming his stand that he will not be working with people accused of such crimes. One portion of the note caught our attention - "Two weeks ago, when traumatic #MeToo stories began emerging, it was brought to our attention that someone we were about to begin work with has been accused of sexual misconduct. Upon enquiry, we found that this particular case is subjudice, and that the legal process is in motion. We are not an investigative agency, nor are we in any position to pass judgement on anyone - that is for the police and judiciary to do. So, without casting any aspersions on anyone involved in this case, and without coming to any conclusions about these specific allegations, we have decided to step away from this film." You can read the entire note below-

So which movie is Aamir Khan talking about? Aamir hasn't officially announced any projects that he is starring after Thugs of Hindostan. However, he is involved in producing another movie that he might not star in - Bhushan Kumar's Mogul. The film is a biopic based on the life of Bhushan's father and T-Series founder Gulshan Kumar.

Now Mogul was to be directed by Subhash Kapoor of Jolly LLB series fame. The director was earlier accused of sexually assaulting an upcoming actress. The video of her slapping the director had gone viral, watch it below -

As per reports, the case is still in the legal proceedings, so it makes complete sense that Aamir Khan may want to associate himself with a film that is to be directed by Kapoor. After all, Aamir must have witnessed the headaches Hrithik Roshan is going through with Super 30, after allegations against Vikas Bahl were revisited. In case you have any doubt, here's the tweet by journalist Ankur Pathak that confirms this -

Earlier, Akshay Kumar had backed out of playing the lead in Mogul, making us wonder if the project is really jinxed.
