Rani Mukerji's statements on #MeToo movement has created a stir on social media. The actress recently made some startling statements on the burning subject which would not go down well with people. During Rajeev Masand's Actors' roundtable session 2018, she gave her opinion on the subject that even Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Anushka Sharma could not really withstand. Now, TV actor Nakuul Mehta too has slammed her for her views, rightly. Rani Mukerji Indirectly Blames Women for Sexual Assault Cases; Gets Trolled for Her Comments on #MeToo Movement.

During the session, the Mardaani actress opined "Women should change before asking other people to change. They need to be strong enough to end things then and there." Well, she did not stop there. She further continued that girls should learn to protect themselves and learn martial arts instead of 'depending on others to change'.  While Deepika, Anushka and Alia tried to point out that the root cause should be eliminated and that how some girls are scared or not in the situation to fight it out. But then, Rani was adamant on her 'self-defence' argument without considering many other factors that she conveniently neglected while putting forth her points.

Here's Nakuul Mehta's Tweet and the Video in the Question.

Ishqbaaz actor Nakuul pointed out this very thing and tweeted, "Ok we get it that you did Mardaani and martial arts is cool but the ladies there are making a very valid point. LISTEN." Well, at least she should actually have listened to their points instead of cutting off their statements. Not only Nakuul, but Twitterati too slammed her comments and she is receiving major flak on social media. She will be next seen in 'Mardaani 2'. Well, you can read between the lines.
