In Hollywood, MCU alone has made 23 superhero movies. And Bollywood only has Krrish with any credibility in the genre. We really, really could use more Indian superheroes. 90s kids at the least had Shaktimaan while growing up. Kids these days have nothing. Nada. Well, Sidharth Malhotra, who is currently promoting Jabariya Jodi, has said that he'd love to play a superhero. In fact, in his latest interview with DNA, the actor revealed he was even working on a superhero project once upon a time but refused to divulge more details. Sid as a superhero does sound like a fine idea. We are on board. Sidharth said, "It has always been on my bucket list to build and portray a superhero character from India, like a Captain America or Thor. They have some amazing writing there and I have been hoping to play one soon,"

He further revealed, "A while back, something on those lines was being worked out, but to build from scratch requires a lot of writing, thought and planning, which takes time. Hindu mythology also has some interesting characters and I would love to play one of those too,"

This is an odd time and out of the blue to talk about a superhero project unless there is more than what meets the eyes. We'd keep our eyes and ears open.

In the past, Tiger Shroff has also tried his hand at the genre with A Flying Jatt which did not perform well at the box office. Deepika Padukone has also expressed that she is working on a superhero film in December 2018 but since there has been no update on it. We wonder if Sid and Deepika were talking about the same project. Also, rumours of Priyanka Chopra joining the MCU as Miss Marvel/Kamala Khan have been going around for quite some time. Not to forget, Ranbir Kapoor is shooting for Brahmastra, which is speculated to be a superhero-fantasy amalgamation. We hope the era of superheroes arrives soon in India.
