Last time we raised the same question was when the news that Katrina Kaif paired against much younger looking Sidharth Malhotra for the movie titled Baar Baar Dekho had trickled in. Interestingly, and matter of factly, the same query is revolving in our collective filmi heads yet again. The fact that Varun Dhawan will be seen with Katrina Kaif in Remo D'Souza's forthcoming production ABCD 3 has the unmistakable element of...well doubt attached to it. Is Katrina Kaif too mature to romance Varun Dhawan?
We are not sure, as yet, if Kat will be seen as the romantic interest of the Dhawan lad in the movie. Mind you folks, the film also features Jacqueline Fernandes. But if the duo is showcased as love birds then it is an absolute must that Kat is projected as a mature heroine romancing a younger lad. The blame should be placed on the following facts.
Katrina has romanced much older heroes such as Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar in most of her films. Naturally the audiences are used to watching the combination that features a rather mature hero when we discuss Kat's projects. Varun Dhawan, on the other hand, is much younger looking and more energetic. Add to the narrative Varun's boyish charm that can suddenly make Kat look at least five years elder to him.
Varun also has zestful dance moves in his repertoire. Kat has improved hugely in that department , but can she keep up with the hyper energy of Varun is the question (It is also pertinent to note that in the past Dhawan has worked with much younger actresses like Alia Bhatt, Illeana D'Crouz, Yami Gautam to name a few. The sudden switch may not look as convincing )
Jacqueline's youthful vibrancy and Varun's undeniable boyish charm is likely to hamper Kat's hotness quotient (thanks to her ever maturing persona). But then again, this radically different jodi might come across as refreshingly different! Let's see if director Remo D'Souza can give us a pleasant surprise of sorts by employing his directorial skills smartly?
