Is Dilip Kumar Unable to Recognize Saira Banu? Wife Refutes Fake News, Says His Health Is Improving
Dilip Kumar has come back from hospital and is recuperating at home as he had two bouts of pneumonia.
Recently, there were reports that suggested, Legendary actor Dilip Kumar, who has been frequently admitted to the hospital in the past few years, is not doing well health-wise. The report further stated that the veteran actor's health is deteriorating and is finding it difficult to recognise his wife and people close to him. Another entertainment portal had quoted a source as saying, "He cannot recognize anyone; sometimes, not even his own wife Saira ji. He can no longer walk or speak. He even needs to be carried to the bathroom. For all practical purposes, he's oblivious to the world around him."
However, the actor's wife has rubbished all the reports and shared an update about the actor's health with news agency PTI. She told PTI that Dilip Kumar is doing absolutely alright. In a statement to PTI, Saira said, "He is alright. He has come back from hospital and is recuperating at home as he had two bouts of pneumonia. He is with his doctor and nursing staff. He is getting better by god's grace."
Saira further added, "He is doing better now. The medical reports are saying a small patch of pneumonia is there. God willing, he will be out of it soon. But he is doing fine."

Dilip Kumar has been in and out of the hospital for the past few years. In November last year, he was diagnosed with mild pneumonia, while earlier this year, ahead of his 96th birthday the actor was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital as he was bit uneasy due to a chest infection. The actor was last admitted in hospital in August 2017 due to kidney-related ailment.
Dilip Kumar has acted in more than 65 films over six decades and is known for his iconic roles in movies such as Devdas (1955), Naya Daur (1957), Mughal-e-Azam (1960), Ganga Jamuna (1961), Kranti (1981), and Karma (1986). The actor was last seen in the film 'Qila' in 1998.
