Imtiaz Ali, who directed sublime love stories like Socha Na Tha, Jab We Met, Rock Star, Love Aaj Kal and Tamasha (we will forget about Jab Harry Met Sejal), is also set to make his ambitious film till date. Currently promoting his upcoming production, Laila Majnu, Imtiaz Ali has announced on the occasion of Janmashtami that he is going to make a film on the eternal love story of Lord Krishna and his paramour, Radha. The movie will be made on an epic scale and will be produced by Imtiaz Ali. It is not confirmed that he is directing the film, since it requires extensive research.
While discussing the movie, Imtiaz Ali revealed, “I have always been fascinated by the eternal love story of Radha and Krishna. In all of the Indian folklore, I know of no other story, which is so intensely personal and yet has such an epic scale. It has been my dream to step into the world of Radha Krishna.”
The cast has been not confirmed yet, so we decided to make our own jodis for the makers to consider.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt
We are sure that when Imtiaz Ali first announced the film, this supposedly real-life jodi was the first names that came to the minds of many. Ranbir shares a special bond with Imtiaz, delivering two of his best performances in Rock Star and Tamasha. He was also the one responsible for suggesting the droll title of Jab Harry Met Sejal. Imtiaz, meanwhile, is also the reason why Bollywood realised that Alia is a fantastic actor in Highway, after her plastic debut in Student of the Year.
Shahid Kapoor and Anushka Sharma
After the success of Jab We Met, Shahid and Imtiaz are looking for opportunities to work again which is not happening. So why not this? While we can't expect Kareena to return, Anushka could be a great choice. She has worked with Imtiaz in JHMS, and has shown a great chemistry with Shahid in Badmaash Company.
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone has worked with Imtiaz before in Love Aaj Kal and Tamasha, so they share a good working rapport. Ranveer has not worked with Imtiaz, so this might be a great opportunity for them to change that. Also, they surely have a good experience together in working in period film. After not sharing a single scene in Padmaavat, so their fans deserve the chance to rectify that unfortunate 'mistake'.
