IIFA 2024 is set to take place this year at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. This highly anticipated three-day event will kick off today, September 27, and run until September 29. The gala event will begin with IIFA Utsavam, which celebrates the vibrant contributions of the four South Indian film industries—Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. In the lead-up to the event, Bollywood actor Abhishek Banerjee, in an exclusive interview with LatestLY, discussed the remarkable success of his latest film, Stree 2. He also shared his excitement about hosting IIFA Rocks 2024. When asked about how he feels to be part of the IIFA Awards 2024, Abhishek exclaimed, "Thank you, darshako! Aap logo ne jo pyaar diya, sneh diya, uski wajah se IIFA walon ne mujhe yahan bula liya aur mein bohot bade bade kalakaron ke saath hoon, and I'm going to have fun. Just keep supporting good cinema" (“Thank you, fans! It’s all because of your love and support that I am being invited to IIFA and sharing the stage with big stars”). Further, when quizzed about his feelings after Stree 2 surpassed the INR 600 crore mark in India, he said, "I feel the same, and the only thing is nowadays I am sleeping better and I am waking up with smile every day." For the uninitiated, Amar Kaushik's horror-comedy Stree 2, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has become the only Hindi film to cross INR 600 crore at the domestic box office. The movie features Abhishek Banerjee as Jana, Rajkummar's friend.

Coming back to IIFA 2024, it is going to be a three-day affair kickstarting today, September 27 and concluding on September 29. On the first day, the event will mark its beginning with IIFA Utsavam, celebrating the four South Indian film industries. This will be followed by IIFA Awards night on Day 2, that is, September 28. The three-day festivities will conclude with the IIFA Rocks event dedicated to the music industry on the final day, which is September 29.
