Earlier today, Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan took to the micro blogging site to to reveal that his father, actor-director Rakesh Roshan, had been diagnosed with early-stage 'squamous cell carcinoma of the throat' and was set to undergo a surgery. Sharing a picture with his father on Instagram from their workout session, the 44-year-old actor wrote, "Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family, we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him." Among the several wishes on the Junior Roshan's post, was one from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, praying for the veteran director's speedy recovery. Modi wrote on Twitter, "Dear Hrithik, praying for the good health of Shri Rakesh Roshan Ji. He is a fighter and I am sure he will face this challenge with utmost courage. @RakeshRoshan_N"

Well, replying to PM Modi's tweet, a couple minutes ago, the 44-year-old wrote, "Thank you Sir for your concern and good wishes. I am very happy to inform that according to the doctors his surgery has gone off well. 🙏🏻Hrithik"

On the professional front, Hrithik Roshan will be next seen in Super 30, based on the like of mathematician Anand Kumar. The film is scheduled to release on the same day as Kangana Ranaut's 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi', which is January 25, 2019. Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan launched his son Hrithik in blockbuster film 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai' alongside Ameesha Patel. He later directed Hrithik in Krrish series, in which he features as the titular character.
