Akshay Kumar's Housefull 4 has found itself in hot waters as allegations of inflated box office collection numbers have been doing the rounds. Despite being reported as the worst-reviewed in the franchise, trade analysts have put out box office figures affirming the success of the film. However, producers of the film have now been accused of inflating figures. On the same, producer Ronnie Screwvala has also expressed his displeasure. In fact, he has pointed at the credibility of some of the industry's recognised trade analysts by stating how it is high time the analysts stop stooping to appeasing an actor or production house's ego by publishing inflated figures.
He took to Twitter and wrote, "Isn’t it time everyone reports Box Office numbers accurately! @KomalNahta @taran_adarsh ... accuracy of information builds CREDIBILITY which the movie industry needs so badly ... and not sure how long-to appease egos will Studios and all keep encouraging pumped up data on numbers."

To this, analyst Akshaye Rathi also reacted. Stating how the numbers shouldn't go public in the first place, Rathi commented, "IMHO sir, collections don’t even need to be in the public domain. Only the stakeholders (the studios, talent, producers, distributors, exhibitors & tax collecting authorities / govt) need to know them. Putting them out does more harm than good to the sector."

The debate regarding inflated box office figures of Housefull 4 surfaced after trade analyst Sumit Kadel took to Twitter to share a series of tweets mentioning how the film has only made Rs 72 crores nett and inflation of Rs 15 crores has been circulated. The manipulated figures have certainly shaken industry as it is the third film this year after Saaho and Mission Mangal, to face such allegations. Directed by Farhad Samji, Housefull 4 stars Kumar, Bobby Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, Kriti Kharbanda, Rana Daggubati and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
