Himesh Reshammiya celebrates his birthday today. Born in Mumbai on July 23, 1973 to composer Vipin Reshammiya, he took up music as a career for the happiness of his father.  He is a singer, composer, songwriter, producer and actor. Himesh Reshammiya has close to 1,500 songs credited to his name. He started off as a TV show producer and later began to compose for the movies. Salman Khan gave him a big break with Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya (1998) and he did not look back since then.

He is known for his unique voice that sets him apart from other Bollywood singers. The nasal tone and pitch of his voice is unmistakable. But as a composer, he has made many melodies that are timeless. ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’

Himesh Reshammiya fans will remember “Jhalak Dikhla Ja" from the movie Aksar. The song was sung and composed by him. It had Emraan Hashmi, Udita Goswami and Dino Morea in lead roles. He also featured in the movie. Himesh Reshammiya has given chartbuster songs to Salman Khan and Emraan Hashmi.

‘Just Chill’

‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’

No playlist of Himesh Reshammiya is complete without "Aashiq Banaya Aapne". The title song of the movie featured Emraan Hashmi and Tanushree Dutta. Himesh Reshammiya and Shreya Ghoshal sang the song, and Sameer wrote the lyrics. The bold video made it a 'forbidden pleasure' for teens back in those days when Internet was not so reachable.
