Rani Mukerji's Hichki has garnered positive reviews from both the audiences and critics alike. Produced under the banner Yash Raj Films and directed by Sidharth P Malhotra Hichki is a woman centric film where the central character is down with Tourette Syndrom where in her motor reflexes get awkward signals to produce Hichki (hiccups) in her speech.

With a story as distinguished as that and with a female character playing the protagonist, the movie has managed to rake in Rs 4 crore on Day 1 at the ticket windows. After getting off to a decent start Hichki will only grow big at the box  office thanks to the buzz around the movie as indeed with the marketing tactics used by the production house as big as Yash Raj Films.

The film has gotten off to a great start especially in metros with tier two cities too enjoying good occupancy on Day 1.  With an average occupancy varying from 30 to 60 on morning shows on Day 1, this movie has been backed up by a the fact that Rani Mukerji is making her super solid screen presence felt on the silverscreen after 4 long years. Her last outing Mardani was a success at BO.

Released in close to 1000 screens across India, Hichlki is lily to pick up strong over the weekend thanks to word of mouth publicity. Plus it has no other big releases releasing alongside it, with the only exception being Hollywood venture Pacific Rim. The only factor that is likely to slowdown Hichki a little is the fact that Ajay Devgn's Raid selling good at the ticket windows.

After garnering close to Rs 70 crore this Ajay Devgn starrer is standing tall at BO. It will be interesting to see Ajay Devgn's movie will experience some monetary hiccups in the days to come!
