The actress was last seen in Anand L Rai's science-fantasy drama, Zero along with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film did not fare well at the box office and fetched average reviews for the actress who played the character of Aafia, a scientist with cerebral palsy. Ever since, we haven't heard any announcements about the actress' next project. We have heard Anushka Sharma's name being taken ahead of almost every big film's announcement. From Sooryavanshi to other big projects, speculations suggested that the actress may be coming on board but unfortunately, that did not happen. Recent reports even claimed that Anushka may be quitting Bollywood to enjoy marital bliss with husband Virat Kohli and now we finally have an answer from the actress herself.

Speaking about her disappearing act from the industry, Anushka said, "That’s a conscious decision. I wanted to take a couple of months off after Zero. After I got married, it was like a whirlwind. I was back on the sets shooting for Sui Dhaaga: Made In India and later Zero. I was just working back to back. Whatever time I’d get, I'd try to balance and meet Virat. But I was feeling too worked up. I needed to take two months off. I told my team I don’t even want to read anything right now. It's important as a creative person to take time off but you deny yourself that. Of course, there’s pressure.
