On August 5, which also happens to be Kajol's birthday, the makers of Helicopter Eela have released the first trailer of the film. Helicopter Eela is directed by Pradeep Sarkar, who is known for making Parineeta, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Lafangey Parindey and Mardaani. The movie has Kajol play a fun-loving, possessive mother to a collegian who decides to join the same college as her son because she doesn't have anything interesting in life to do. National award-winning actor Riddhi Sen is playing her son in the film.

The trailer shows the fun first as Kajol's character adjusts with the college life, returning there after 20 years. Even though her son is not too happy with the arrangements, he agrees to the idea. However, things get serious when he feels his mother's presence in the college restricts his freedom and that she is not pursuing her real interest - singing.

Going by the trailer, Helicopter Eela looks to be a feel-good film with some really nice mother-son moments. It also reminds us of some other movies with similar themes. Like these 5 below,

Munna Bhai MBBS

A grownup returning to college, where everyone mistakes him to be a professor? Of course, that's classic Munna Bhai!

Nil Battey Sannata

Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's delightful debut is about a mother, who does odd jobs to meet ends, decides to go back to school and complete her education. Why? 'Cos she wants to show her lazy daughter that all it takes is determination.

Life of the Party

The Melissa McCarthy comedy, directed by her husband, has her join her daughter's college because she has no nowhere else to go after divorce. The movie, that came out this year, was a critical bomb.

Tumhari Sulu

Tumhari Sulu may not have Vidya Balan returning to college or school. But it sure has her middle-age housewife finally leaving the comfort zone of her house so that she can pursue a career.

Back to School

One of the earliest movies about senior people returning to college to be with their children. This 1986 comedy film stars Rodney Dangerfield as a wealthy but uneducated man who joins the same high school as his son. By doing so, he wants to show his son that money can't compensate for a good education.
